PENDLETON X JESS MUDGETT
We’re proud to partner with artist Jess Mudgett to bring his distinctive style to our expertly crafted blankets. Mudgett’s artwork captures the spirit of The West with bold lines, high-contrast palettes, and depictions of landscapes and wildlife. “I’ve always been inspired by the American West and our wild history in these upper northern states,” he says.
WHERE IT STARTED
For inspiration for the design of the Saratoga Throw, Mudgett drew from his childhood. “Some of my fondest memories are loading up in an F350 with my dad and his friend we called Doc and his big dog and driving out to Saratoga to see if we could spot wild horses,” he says. “Those trips helped me develop a love for open spaces.”
A DETAILED LOOK
The horse on the Saratoga Blanket pays homage to Mudgett’s childhood excursions to the Saratoga, Wyoming region, as do the swallows flying above the waters of the North Platte River and depictions of the High Desert landscape.
HONORING THE PAST
Mudgett’s dedication to the land and to the people of The West are a natural fit for Pendleton, a company rooted in The West for more than 150 years. “I love that it’s a brand that spans generations,” Mudgett explains. “I’ve had Pendletons passed down to me from my grandfather. Not too many brands have that much history, especially in our country.”
